Health For Life – DRC (HL-DRC) is a non-governmental, non-profit, apolitical and non-denominational humanitarian organization established in the Democratic Republic of Congo in January 2020.
HL-DRC works to promote integrated development and improve the health and well-being of Congolese communities through sustainable interventions that strengthen access to healthcare services, livelihoods, education, and environmental protection.
Our mission is to support vulnerable populations, reduce disease burden, promote universal health coverage, and empower communities to live healthy, dignified, and productive lives.
General Objective
To promote integrated development and improve public health by increasing access to quality healthcare services, reducing morbidity rates, and strengthening livelihoods for sustainable community well-being.
Specific Objectives
- Improve access to healthcare services and basic livelihoods in remote and conflict-affected areas.
- Provide humanitarian assistance to victims of conflicts, disasters, gender-based violence, displaced persons, refugees, orphans, widows, and other vulnerable groups.
- Promote gender equality through women empowerment, rights protection, and reduction of social inequalities.
- Strengthen maternal and child health and fight malnutrition and child abuse.
- Encourage community engagement and integrate traditional medicine practices to improve quality healthcare delivery.
- Improve livelihoods of vulnerable populations to support dignity and economic stability.
- Promote health education, awareness, and behavior change communication for sustainable development.
- Support sustainable agriculture to improve food security and reduce malnutrition in rural communities.
- Establish and support mobile clinics and medical services for chronic diseases, neglected tropical diseases, infectious diseases, and epidemic prevention.
- Promote environmental protection through awareness, training, advocacy, and sustainable resource management.
- Improve access to clean water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH) and infection prevention and control (IPC) practices in urban and rural communities.
